![]() The Centre for Distance Education’s Digital Arts Technology Training Institute is proud to announce a brand-new diploma program, Graphic Design. The Graphic Design program took root in its predecessors, Digital Imaging and Digital Publishing. These programs have evolved over the last ten years to be strong software-based programs; however, DArTT is about more than just software. Our digital arts instructors felt it important to our students to pull back both programs and offer instead a comprehensive graphic design program, with all the appeal of the earlier programs and so much more.
The new Graphic Design program focuses on design & layout, typography, grid layouts and color theory, with explorations into brand identity and publication design.
Graduates will have the opportunity to create a portfolio aimed at helping them gain entry-level employment such as a graphic designer, logo artist, newspaper layout artist, signmaker, or advertising designer; they can be hired by advertising agencies, design agencies, multimedia production companies, television studios, publishers, government offices, charities, and commerce and industry. The project possibilities for a graphic designer are practically endless. Here are just a few, most of which have dozens of sub-genres to choose from:
If you’re creative and imaginative; if you’ve always been interested in art, signage, drawing, and other creative endeavors; if you love a challenge – you could be a great Graphic Designer! Examples by DArTT students and instructors.
