It's simple: we've been providing quality online education in digital media longer than anyone else. The Centre for Distance Education was established in 1996 as an alternative to in-class schooling to address the needs of students who prefer to learn at home or in the workplace.
The Digital Arts Technology Institute is the name of our digital arts division, with the same staff, the same curriculum, and the same services as CD-ED.
Accreditation & Development
CD-ED is:
- registered with the Department of Education & Culture under the Private Career Colleges Regulation act;
- an award-winning member of the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce;
- a A+ Better Business Bureau accredited business;
- registered with the National Association of Career Colleges; and
- registered with the Private College Association of Nova Scotia.
In addition, as part of the government registration process, each of our programs must go through two industry reviews before we are allowed to offer them. This means that two companies who specialize in the trade we’re offering must go through the program and sign a form that says that yes, it is suitable for the industry and yes, they’d hire a graduate of this program.
We have been continuously developing new programs to keep up with the changing demands of the workplace and to give our students an edge in an increasingly competitive job market.
We continually invest resources to complete research projects that help us provide the most current programs and technology. This includes working with educators from public institutions such as universities to develop new teaching methods that are specific to the adult learner.
